FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Redwood City, CA (June 18, 2007) – Accelerance, the company dedicated to helping professionals take the risk out of the global outsourcing of software development, announced today that its CEO, Steve Mezak, has won a 2007 IPPY Award for his book, Software without Borders: A Step-by-Step Guide to Outsourcing Your Software Development. The announcement was made at the 11 th Annual Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY) ceremony in New York City earlier this month.
The IPPY Awards are the world's largest international and regional book awards competition. Software without Borders was awarded the Gold IPPY in the Computer/Internet category and was one of 3,378 entries in 65 categories submitted from all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, plus eight Canadian provinces and 18 countries.
“This book takes you by the hand and helps you get it done quickly, safely, and profitably,” said Galen Ho, BAE Systems Sr. VP of Performance Excellence. Ho is one of the many readers of the book that agree outsourcing is a way to lower software development costs and increase profits.
Published in 2006, Software without Borders is the only book specifically focused on the global outsourcing of software development. It offers a proven system for choosing the right vendor and location and an objective method for comparing options, including in-house development, contract outsourcing, build, operate & transfer (BOT) and subsidiary creation. The book also includes a well-defined vendor selection process and recommendations for measuring and managing the progress of your offshore software development.
“No matter whether you're a C-level executive, VP, director, or a software development manager, “Software without Borders can save you time and money,” said Author and Accelerance CEO Steve Mezak. “Winning the Gold IPPY Award validates is the practical value and advice delivered by this book.”
