NAVEX Global
NAVEX Global was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Lake Oswego, OR, with global offices in London, Chippenham (ENG), and Stockholm. Today, they work with more than 14,000 customers around the globe, including 95 of the Fortune 100. More than 70 million employees have learned from their training courseware or felt empowered to use their hotlines to report an issue.
NAVEX Global is committed to doing the “right things right” and believe they have the ability to help every organization to do the same. They were the first in the GRC space and strive every day to remain the best. As of 2018, the company was valued in excess of $1b. This was established after Vista Equity sold its majority stake in 2018 to BC Partners.
The company employs more than 1,500 total employees, with about 300 involved in engineering. Forty percent of those engineers are located in the US, with the remaining sixty percent in India, the UK, and Scandinavia. It’s worth noting that the Indian group is located in Bangalore, and was created as part of a BOT arrangement. The team started with six engineers and has now grown to over 160: it’s a highly productive group.
Given an ever-increasing demand for their services, they need to add significantly to their engineering team. For a variety of reasons, they would like to direct this future growth to a nearshore Partner. They have not prescribed an exact location(s), so they are open to meeting leading groups throughout Latin America. They are aware of and comfortable with the current pricing for engineers in that region, ranging from $45 to 75/hour.
They envision starting with a pilot project, requiring the services of one team (8-10 resources) working on a defined project. The actual project could take a couple of years to complete but the team’s effectiveness would be evaluated after six months. A determination would be made at that point whether to grow the relationship or not. While there would be a defined scope and timeline, he would manage this on a T&M basis. The technology required would be centered around Java, React, and AWS.
If successful, the team would certainly grow although no specifics were given at this time. A lot of their core technology involves C# and .NET, so an ideal Partner will need to be competent in both the “pilot” and “core” technologies. The pilot project would certainly be a fairly autonomous one. If the relationship scales, there are scenarios under which the remote team would work with internal teams (domestic and remote) or face off with clients.
