Andy Hilliard is the President of Accelerance, Inc., a leader in global software development outsourcing. In this role, Andy is responsible for leading Accelerance’s overall operations and cultivating strategic partnerships to expand its network of software development firms worldwide. An IT industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, Andy has a proven track record of taking a personalized approach to matching clients with software development partners best suited to fulfill their individual needs. Andy’s success is largely due to his passion for the global software development industry and his enthusiasm for helping the underserviced market grow their networks and experience their full potential, no matter where they are in the world.
Prior to joining Accelerance in 2009, Andy was Founder and Managing Director of Business Development at IsThmus, Inc., a leading nearshore provider of custom software development and technology services for US-based companies in Costa Rica. He grew the company into one of the region’s first successful nearshore software providers and has served numerous major clients including TSYS, Cushman & Wakefield and Gannett Company.
Andy has held several other senior leadership roles throughout his career including Division Manager at Cognizant, where he managed sales operations, business development and account management for the Southeast U.S. He also worked as the Regional Manager at Siebel, Director of Business Development across Latin America and the East Coast at YOUcentric and Vice President of Marketing at Bank of America. In addition, Andy has played an active role as an expert advisor for Gerson Lehrman Group, a consulting practice for investment firms specializing in global technology for more than 12 years.
Andy has always been an advocate for the underserviced and the small business community looking to do more with less. Going back to his volunteer work with the Peace Corps in Costa Rica to his current role at Accelerance, Andy is a voice for the underserviced, especially today as he works alongside small to medium-sized businesses helping them decrease expenses, accelerate their time to market and deliver bottom-line benefits.
Andy received an MBA in international business, strategy, finance and marketing from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and London Business School. He also received a BSBA in finance and marketing from the University of Denver.
Scott Pollov is Chief Financial Officer for Accelerance, Inc. As a results oriented professional, Scott has more than fifteen years of experience in planning, developing, financing, marketing, and managing entrepreneurial ventures as a consultant, capital advisor, board member, and investor.
Throughout his career, he has focused on bringing together a strong business plan, with the most appropriate capital, connections, and resources to help companies catalyze growth and profitability. In 1997, Scott founded BizPlanIt, a management consulting firm that has provided business and strategic planning services to hundreds of growth oriented companies across the globe.
Scott holds a B.S. in Accounting and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona, and is an inductee in the University’s Berger Entrepreneurship Program Hall of Fame for his role in developing BizPlanIt.
Steve Mezak is the Founder and CEO of Accelerance, Inc., a leader in global software development outsourcing. In this role, he oversees Accelerance’s overall operations, drives strategy for business development and leads the cultivation and recruitment of international partner firms. A technical entrepreneur and internationally recognized outsourcing expert and speaker, Steve has more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry, moving from writing software code to facilitating and managing software development teams and budgets.
Steve came up with Accelerance’s business idea based on his own experience working with an outsourced programming team in Russia in 1998. Then he realized there was no easy way to find qualified engineering firms overseas. He founded Accelerance in 2001 with the goal of helping clients find and select outsourced partner firms that best serve their technical needs and align with their corporate culture. Steve has spent the last 15 years traveling the globe and interviewing thousands of software development teams to build Accelerance’s network of partner firms.
Prior to Accelerance, Steve co-founded and served as CEO of SendOrder.com, Inc., a B2B e-commerce site. Before that, he served as Vice President of Technical Services at Digital Market, Inc., an online marketplace for electronic parts that was acquired by Agile Software in 1999. He also co-founded and served as the Director of Engineering at Aspect Development, Inc., a B2B software development company that was acquired by i2 Technologies in 2000.
Throughout his career, Steve has guided hundreds of software and IT executives through the strategic advantages of outsourcing their software development. He is also the author of Software without Borders: A Step-By-Step Guide to Outsourcing Your Software Development.
Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. He is the proud father of five children, two of whom served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and enjoys recreational water sports including wakeboarding and wakesurfing.
Michael McAuliffe is a Global Software Outsourcing Advisor for Accelerance. Mike brings to Accelerance more than twenty-five years of experience in business development, sales management, and financial analysis.
Most of this time was spent in New York, where he established an impressive track record of establishing client trust and developing new business to drive revenue and profit growth. Most recently, Mike has been deeply involved in technology, running business development for a leading Capital Market advisory firm, bringing to market that company’s Real-Time Risk Prototype Solution, and establishing their staffing practice.
Mike offers an effective combination of selling and presenting skills, technical abilities, and a commitment to customer service to achieve rapid success in new, highly competitive industries and positions.
Mike received a BA in Economics from DePauw University. He currently splits his time between New York City, and Charleston, South Carolina.
Hugh Morgan is the Vice President of Strategy at Accelerance Inc., a leader in global software development outsourcing. In this role, Hugh is responsible for leading the strategic marketing vision and spearheading all sales and marketing initiatives for Accelerance’s global operation. With more than 15 years of experience working with high-growth tech companies to drive their revenue and increase market share, Hugh brings this passion for start-ups to his role at Accelerance. A software industry veteran and strategic advisor, Hugh is known for coaching and guiding clients through the process of selecting a software development team that will bring the most value to their line of work.
Prior to Accelerance, Hugh served as Principal of Hugh Morgan Consulting and provided strategic marketing services and executed go-to-market and lead generation programs for numerous small to medium-sized software companies. Before that, Hugh held senior leadership roles at various technology companies; including Vice President of Business Development at Angus Systems; Vice President of Sales at Asterop; and Vice President at Corrigo.
Throughout his IT and software consulting career, Hugh lived and worked alongside companies in South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Through this experience, Hugh truly garnered an appreciation for his partners in developing countries that were creating opportunities in software development.
Hugh began his career as an investment banker and spent 10 years in real estate and finance before diving into the world of software and technology.
Hugh earned his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Carleton University in Ontario, Canada and an MBA in finance from The University of Chicago. As a Canadian native, Hugh speaks French as a second language and is an avid baker and sourdough bread enthusiast.
Theresa DaSilva is the Director of Product Management & Product Marketing for Accelerance, Inc. In this role, Theresa is responsible for driving product strategy which involves gathering product feedback to continually enhance the solutions to meet client needs. She also focuses on product marketing to ensure both clients and service providers know the latest and greatest product capabilities from Accelerance.
Theresa comes to Accelerance with 15 years experience working for SaaS-based companies in both product and marketing roles. She has launched, maintained, revived, and sunsetted several government and healthcare products during those years. Whether it is a new product idea or helping figure out how to turn a stale product around, she thrives figuring out how to meet customers’ needs.
She lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with her husband, son, two daughters, and dogs. In her free time, she loves to enjoy the outdoors by going to her son’s baseball games, taking a swim in her pool, or enjoying s'mores around the firepit.
Jim Marascio is the Vice President of Project Optimization at Accelerance Inc., a leader in global software development outsourcing. In this role, Jim uses his experience as both a former CIO and CTO who has utilized offshore partners for several projects to facilitate successful engagements between Accelerance partners and clients. Jim brings more than twenty years of experience leading software and product development teams, both domestically and globally.
Prior to Accelerance, Jim served as CIO at Portrait Innovations, a retail brand operating nearly 200 stores within 40 US states. Before that, he was CTO and VP of Operations at 11Giraffes, a SaaS provider serving retail, restaurant, banking and hospitality brands, as well as government agencies and universities in more than 35 countries. Jim is also managing director or Petrizzi Technology Advisors, providing fractional CIO and CTO services.
Throughout his career, Jim has worked with offshore partners in North, Central and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Jim earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Bryant University in Rhode Island, and an MBA in International Business from the University of Maine.
Julie Iskow is the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President for Global Product Development at Medidata Solutions, a global provider of cloud-based solutions for clinical technology strategy. Julie leads the company’s global product development of innovative software solutions. With more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Julie has built and scaled several innovative and business-driven product and technology organizations and led the establishment and management of offshore teams and strategic partners around the world.
She has previously held leadership roles at WageWorks, an administrator of consumer-directed benefits; ASYST Technologies, a manufacturer of automotive lighting aiming mechanisms and devices; and GW Associates (acquired by PEER Group), a provider of factory automation software to the semiconductor industry.
Julie earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a master’s degree from the University of California at Davis.
Charlie Carpinteri is the Program Director of Social Segment at ANZ, an Australian-based bank that provides a range of financial products and services to roughly eight million customers. A technology evangelist with over 16 years of experience, Charlie’s expertise resides in architecting digital solutions and overseeing projects from initial strategy phase to full execution.
Charlie has played an instrumental role at ANZ, applying the most appropriate cutting-edge technology to insure that the business remains agile and relevant in today’s ever-changing real-time communication and mobile world. Throughout his career, Charlie has maintained a proactive attitude towards all projects and has excelled as a team player, basing decisions on integrity and strong personal ethics.
Charlie received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and digital electronics from Swinburne University of Technology.
David Pearah most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer of Cision, a leading global media intelligence company. Within this role, David was responsible for overseeing product management, engineering and overarching IT operations across the Americas and Europe. With over 20 years of experience, David was brought on board to leverage his expertise in product management and agile software development to help further Cision’s commitment to product innovation.
Prior to Cision, David served as the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Product Management at Emmi Solutions where he was responsible for executing a strategy to grow the company’s portfolio and also revitalizing its engineering efforts. During David’s tenure, the company launched its mobile platform and was successfully acquired by Primus Capital, a private equity firm. David also held management roles within the ePrescribe Business Unit at Allscripts and Nuance Communications.
David holds dual master’s degrees in technology management and policy and electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. David received a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds multiple patents and is a recipient of fellowships from the National Science Foundation, NASA and the Ford Foundation.
Ron has more than 25 years of experience consulting and managing software development and product organizations at large global companies, including Apple Computer, Fujitsu, Charles Schwab, Avenue A | Razorfish, Forensic Logic, Stanford, Check Point and startups of all sizes. His primary focus has been on identifying methods to untangle the knots in software development and transform chaos into clarity. Ron’s career has spanned system software, entertainment, shrinkwrap products, ecommerce, interface development, embedded devices, professional services and IT.
As the Principal and Owner of Ron Lichty Consulting, Inc., Ron takes on fractional interim VP of Engineering and acting CTO roles by training teams in scrum and making the transition to agile. He also equips managers with the tools and resources to manage software development teams.
Ron's book, Managing the Unmanageable: Rules, Tools, and Insights for Managing Software People and Teams, published by Addison Wesley, has been compared by many readers to programming classics, The Mythical Man-Month and Peopleware. In his continued search for effective best practices, Ron also co-authors the annual Study of Product Team Performance.
Earlier in his career, Ron directed development of the Macintosh desktop at Apple Computer, screen savers at Berkeley Systems and online animated virtual worlds at Fujitsu. Ron has repeatedly demonstrated that small tweaks can result in dramatic impacts to throughput, quality and customer focus.
